Adopt a Pug / Jack Russell Terrier / Mixed

Emma settled in to our family quickly, she is a quiet and gentle soul, and is a great companion. She is a mature 10 years old and looks every bit the old gentle lady, she weights a bit less than 9 lbs with a good appetite and she free feeds a dry kibble and enjoys fresh carrots, peas and corn. She has no allergies or medical conditions. She always enjoys being around her people, she will sit close and let you pet here, however, she does not demand to be on your lap. She is approachable by strangers, however, will bark when a stranger shows up at the door. We have not seen her interacting with cats or dog, however, we are led to believe that she does not like other dogs. We have lovebirds, and occasionally she will want to sniff them but listens when told to move away.Emma generally has the run of the house and she deals well with separation. She goes into her crate when told to at night, but she will mumble a complaint for a few minutes. She much prefers sleeping with our son when he is at home. She is also crated during our work day, only because she will make a mess with the recycle bin once she knows she is alone. Emma is always quietly waiting for our return each day. She has never had an accident in the house, but we do take her out for her tiny walks about every 2 1/2 hours when she is not crated.She is a joy to walk - it is like leading a balloon on a string. She prefers very short walks and shows no interest in playing with dog toys. We do not know how Emma behaves around children so we can only say that she suits adults fine, especially those that are more stay-at-home and not “hiking and camping” people.Emma would be best suited in a home with older children over the age of 16- no dogs- no catsEmma is being fostered in Toronto
